1. Eligibility for Returns
- New Books: New books must be returned in their original, unread, and unused condition. This includes intact dust jackets (if applicable) and no signs of wear, creasing, or damage.
- Used/Pre-Owned Books: Used books are sold "as is" and their condition is typically described on the product page. Returns for used books are generally accepted only if the book arrives in a significantly different condition than described (e.g., missing pages, severe damage not noted). Minor wear consistent with a used book is not grounds for return.
- Gift Cards: Gift cards are non-refundable and cannot be redeemed for cash.
2. Return Window
You have 30 calendar days from the date your order was delivered to initiate a return. Returns requested after this period may not be accepted.
3. How to Initiate a Return
- Contact Customer Service: Before sending any items back, please contact our customer service team at hello@kindbooks.shop to obtain a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) number. Please include your order number and the reason for your return.
- Package Your Item: Carefully package the item(s) you are returning to prevent damage during transit. Include your original packing slip or a note with your order number and RMA number inside the package.
- Ship Your Return: You are responsible for the shipping costs associated with returning your item(s) unless you receive the wrong or a damaged item. We recommend using a trackable shipping service and purchasing shipping insurance, as we cannot be responsible for returns lost or damaged in transit.
4. Refunds
- Once we receive your returned item, we will inspect it and notify you that we have received your returned item. We will also notify you of the approval or rejection of your refund within 5 business days of receipt.
- If your return is approved, your refund will be processed, and a credit will automatically be applied to your original method of payment within 6 business days.
- Original Shipping Costs: Original shipping costs are non-refundable, unless the return is a result of our error (e.g., you received an incorrect or defective item).
5. Exchanges
We generally do not offer direct exchanges. If you wish to exchange an item, please return the original item for a refund and place a new order for the desired item.
6. Damaged or Incorrect Items
If you receive a damaged book or an incorrect item, please contact our customer service team immediately (within 7 days of delivery) with your order number and photos of the damage or incorrect item. We will arrange for a replacement or a full refund, and we will cover the return shipping costs in these instances.
7. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are generally not eligible for return:
- Gift cards
- Items not in their original condition, are damaged, or missing parts for reasons not due to our error.
- Items returned more than 30 days after delivery.
